Our story

The Fateful Meeting

Everything started in two parallel universes.

Scientists of the Institute of Electronics and Computer Sciences (EDI) have been working with shape measurements technologies since 2010, but the first hints at the idea of using this technology for everyday purposes arose when, as fate would have it, four aspired friends knocked on EDI’s doors in 2020, looking for help with their business idea. Back then, it was a computer vision application for detecting yoga movements.

The idea of a yoga application did not fly, but both teams clicked and realized from the very beginning that they were going in the same direction, and it was better to go together. Because if you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together…and better through European research projects.

First Investor

Thanks to this wonderful opportunity, we got the chance to create our first motion-capture clothing prototype, and test it with ballet dancers, yoga specialists, and other professionals to validate the idea for everyday use. And it worked!

Through this project, we partnered with our first investor – Hancom (KOSDAQ: HAANSOFT). Founded in 1990 by Korea’s top software engineers, Hancom develops a word document software that best supports ‘Hangul,’ the Korean written language. Hancom is not satisfied with its Office Suite software only. Hancom has accelerated its growth with aggressive M&A strategies and used strategic partnerships to improve its technology and grow into an ICT Convergence business.

It’s a true honor to be part of such a dominant world leader who saw something in us, believed in us, and helped us to grow into Husky Sense – a Smart Wearable Technology company, aiming to ease movement analysis and recording in real-time across various platforms and use cases.

Why Husky Sense, you ask?

Siberian Huskies are a breed that has a rich history as sled dogs in the challenging climate of Siberia. They possess a unique set of physical attributes, such as a thick fur coat, blue or multicolored eyes, and friendly and outgoing personalities, which make them well-suited for outdoor activities. What truly sets them apart, however, is their highly developed sense of smell.

Huskies are renowned for their acute olfactory abilities, which enable them to detect scents from significant distances. This attribute was especially valuable for their role as sled dogs, as it allowed them to locate and follow scent trails through snowy and icy terrains.

In addition to this, their keen sense of smell also enables them to perceive changes in the environment and identify scents related to food or other important stimuli. The design of the Husky’s nose, with its large surface area and moist lining, allows it to effectively trap and analyze scents.

That’s Why 🙂

Similar to Huskies, we are not afraid of hard work, we love the outdoors, and analyze everything that can be analyzed. It just happened to be motions.
